Full potential

   As me and Scorch were pushing the new enemies we were calling Shadow Dragons, for them looking just like a dragon about mine or Scorch's size they were still all black no other colors except for their eyes which were gold yellow just like the Shadow Claws we fought. We realized that there wasn't just a few hundred of them. We finally got them to the gates that we were now officially lacking we looked out to the plains that were normal so peaceful and lush green with life was now a shadow of its past. There wasn't just a few hundred but from what we could figure was thousands of them. Scorch and I were blocking the front gates from them until help arrived.

   "Man! What is taking them?!" I shouted as I clawed another five Shadow Dragons with one swipe of my claw.

   "I don't know just keep fighting!" Scorch Shouted back as he swung his tail to take out another ten. Then as the fight kept going we heard help coming. To find out it was Fearer and Flare with from what I could make out was about thirty other dragons.

   "Go! We will hold the gate." Fearer commanded.

   "You are needed up on the roof with Blazon, Ronco. Scorch, Shaz needs you." Flare told each of us. We nodded and took off. When we reached a turn off where we would split up.

   "Yo Scorch!" I shouted. He turned towards me. " Try to stay alive." He smiled when I said that and we ran in opposite directions. I ran as fast as I could. When I reached the roof where Blazon had taken up a defensive spot I saw Aria with him.

   "Aria? What are you doing here?" I asked in confusion.

   "Aria has the gift of the sonic boom much like you Ronco." Blazon told me. He ordered us to line up in rows along the walls. As I looked down I could see Flare and Fearer fighting. Fearer was using his control over fear to push them back. While Flare created walls of fire to hamper any way in except one and that was their way. Then I had to focus my energy to create that sonic boom from last night after my fight with Shara, my old crush from karate academy only her name before was Shelia. " Unleash the boom!" Commanded Blazon. As he said that every dragon on our wall and the third wall up unleashed a sonic boom all at once. When we looked down on the field there was a huge cloud of smoke from all the sonic booms. Then out of nowhere a sudden bolt of lightning hit the center of the Shadow Dragons. We kept doing this and right when we thought we were winning we heard a shout of pain. I looked down and saw Fearer and Flare getting jumped on by about thirty or forty of them were on them.

   "FLARE!" I yelled in shock.

   "Ronco, Go! We will take it from here go help Flare and Fearer." Blazon said like he knew what I was going to do even if he told me otherwise. I backed up and took a running start to the cliff and jumped and flew over where I last saw Flare and Fearer. I used my sonic boom to clear Shadow Dragons to find Flare and Fearer. After my sixth boom I spotted Flare's tail. I quickly flew to the open area still launching boom after boom to keep it clear. When I touched the ground I focused my energy on my tail. When I heard a shot go off like a shotgun just went off behind me. I turned to see Scorch using his Earth blast.

   "Ronco. Get them I will hold them off for you." Scorch yelled. When he did another volley of booms and lightning hit around us clearing up some. I refocused on my tail and when I was ready I hoped on it and started to spin. Unleashing my fire typhoon I only did once before but I had more control over it. When I stopped I managed to clear Fearer and Flare of the Shadow Dragons they were covered in.

   "They need help now!" I yelled up to Blazon since he was only on the first tier of walls of the temple. As I looked back at Fearer and Flare as they lay shaking on the ground in their bad shape. Fearer had three cuts on him that was bad. One was on his leg not deep enough to cut his leg off but was still deep and bleeding bad. While the one on his neck was lucky not to cut his main vain. The third was on his back but not in urgent need of help. Flare's scratches were all over. While Fearer had three main huge gashes on him. Flare had like twenty deep punctures on him. They were bad and only getting worse.

   "Ronco…" I heard. It was Flare.

   "Flare hang in there. Your going to be okay. I promise." I said trying to hold back my tears.

   "No… My time is up. Your time is here. I want you to remember one thing." Flare said trying to gather his energy.

   "What is that." I asked still fighting back my tears but they were still running down my face.

   "When the time comes to unleash your true inner dragon. And that even if all seems hopeless to never give into the dark. Just keep fighting. For a hero is awakened when he fights for whats right." Flare said with his last bit of energy. I stared at his body. Now laying there dead. I started to cry.

   "Hey kid…" Fearer said.

   "Yeah." I looked at him.

   "Tell Scorch… To… hit Shrag once for me." He said as his head fell with a thud. Lifeless.

   "Will do Fearer." I said with gloom. I ran back to Scorch. We stood back to back just like before. " Just like old times huh Scorch." I said to him. We kept fighting using our tails and wings as a main means of attack. It went on for what seemed like hours. Then… "ROOOAAAARRRRRR!!!" we both looked up in the air. I couldn't see anything.

   "He's here." Scorch said.

   "Who?" I asked looking confused.

   "Shrag." He said with a smile, "I see him."

   "Wait! What? I don't see him." As I looked at the same exact spot he was looking at the same exact spot he was.

   "I'm going for him." He told me as he ran and took off into the air.

   "Wait!" I yelled but too late he was long gone. I continued fighting alone as I was surrounded by an endless river of Shadow Dragons. I don't know why but all the ones on the walls started aiming at the sky hitting nothing. And why I didn't see anything I don't know. But then again I didn't care I had a job to do and I didn't need any distractions. As I kept fighting the enemy was getting smarter. They started leaping two at a time . Then three. All the way up to five at a time. Eventually a sixth one joined the jump and managed to land on me.

    "UGH!" I yelled in pain from it biting me. Then they all started a dog pile on me. But when I was covered by Shadow Dragons they weren't scratching or biting me they were almost seemed like frozen by something. So I didn't have much time. I started to remember all the ones I had come to know and love come and go before my eyes. Then when I imagined Frank in ice something clicked in my mind. I managed to stand up from underneath all the Shadow Dragons that were on me. I focused all my anger into my front right claw. Lifted it up and when I slammed it on the ground ten icicles shot up from the ground at an angle to miss me but skewered all the guys on top of me. In reaction I let out a roar of my own. The icicles I made shattered into twenty smaller ones then with one flap of my wings they rocketed at the surrounding enemies. Then when he just missed my big skewer show. Scorch came back from his wild goose chase.

   "Whoa! What happened here?" He asked noticing the pieces of ice all over. I looked at him. And just as I was about to chew him out over the going off on a wild goose chase.

   BOOOOOMMMM!! We flinched in surprise to the explosion that hit the top of the temple. We nodded at each other and just before we could flap our wings to start flying we saw two more fireballs hit two separate spots. The first I noticed cause it was where Blazon and Aria were at.

   "ARIA! BLAZON!" I shouted. The other Scorch took notice cause it was where he went to meet up with Shaz. We knew that we had to split up again. I went to check on Blazon and Aria while he went to Shaz. I flew to the wall through  the smoke of the explosion. As I flew through the smoke I thought I heard someone scream. When I got close enough I heard Aria.

   "Blazon!! NO!!!!!" Was what I heard. When I had a clear sight of the wall I landed and ran for Aria. When I got there I was shocked by the sight.

   "Blazon!" I gasped.

   "I never thought I would go like this. Trying to protect the temple from a fire ball." He mocked. "Look you too you will have to carry on from here. Trust your instincts and when the time comes to unleash your inner strength. Know that one's strength isn't tested by the size of your muscles…" He said as his head was shaking from using up his energy. "it's the size of your heart. Your friends is your true strength. Ronco, Aria farewell to you." Was his last words before his head fell dead. His burn from the fire ball was really bad. I was not a doctor but he had what looked like third degree burns. And not only that but the rock wall from the impact made it worst becoming like shrapnel. Aria and I looked at Blazon crying. While I was also enraged. First Flare, then Fearer, now Blazon. I had a feeling Shaz was no better than the others. Then we heard a familiar voice.

   "Oh, did I do that? I'm so sorry… I couldn't have made it worst for him!" a girl said from behind us then started to laugh in amusement.

   "Shara. You're the cause for this attack aren't you." I said still looking at Blazon letting my anger grow.

   "Hmmm. I think so. And with your weak elders gone what are you going to do now?" She said. And with that I snapped. I turned to her looked her dead in the eyes.

   "I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU PAY FOR ALL THOSE YOU HAVE HURT. AND SHRAG WILL BE NO DIFFERENT!!!!" I screamed at her. She laughed. When she was laughing I lifted up on my hind legs and started to flap my wings in her directions. Creating whirlwind of slicing air. She stopped laughing when it hit her. She stood surprised after the whirlwind was over. Her scales were so thick I only manage a few deep cuts that made her start to bleed.

   "Ok then. Looks like your stronger than given credit for." She smirked.

   "Aria run. Find someplace safe to hide." I told her. She nodded at me and ran off.

   "Oh no you don't!" Shara snapped as she swung her tail and hit Aria into the wall. Knocking her out cold.

   "NO! Aria!!!" I screamed in anger. I turned to Shara. She leaped at me. I leaped at her but when I got close I unleashed a sonic boom right in her face. She went flying to edge of the wall she almost fell off. We kept leaping, hitting, clawing, and all sorts of stuff. When finally we ended up really banged up. I had a slash across my face but thanks to my silver face armor it didn't scratch me. But I did have few deep cuts mainly on my legs.

   "OK! I have had enough of this game! I will end you here and now!" Shara yelled at me.

   "Bring it!" I replied. As she started to run towards me which we were a foot ball field length apart. I heard Flare's voice. "use the firestorm, Ronco. It will snap  her out of Shrag's control." I didn't know what the fire storm was but I didn't question it if it meant getting the old Shelia back it was worth a shot. I focused all my energy around me and all my emotions fueled it. I started to lift off the ground and began hovering over the area I was standing. When I opened my eyes I was surrounded by a wall of fire just around me no farther out than that. Then I released my emotions and the fire that was surrounding me shot outward. Launching small magma rocks everywhere. Shara was so surprised by it her eyes widened just before it hit her and sent her flying against the wall. When I touched the ground something amazing happened…
